Dr. Pere Colomer Vidal

Dr. Pere Colomer Vidal is an Environmental Scientist specializing in the field of Analytical Chemistry and Environment. His research experience started with the study of POPs, especially of PFAS, in wildlife from marine environments at the IDAEA-CSIC. Dr. Pere Colomer Vidal obtained his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry and Environment Cum Laude in 2021, on the line of Organic Pollutants in the Environment and entitled “Distribution and impact of perfluoroalkyl substances in the environment”. Part of his thesis was conducted in the SKLOG-GIG-CAS in China where undertook different projects related to the distribution of PFAS in the freshwater environment, plant uptake and translocation of pollutants, and bioremediation using macrophytes. After that, Dr. Pere Colomer Vidal started his early research career as a Postdoc Researcher at the CIB-CSIC in the biodegradation of plastic by biological systems. Research lines were focused on modeling, molecular biology, separation, and identification of enzymes, plastic metabolites, and additives. Today, Dr. Pere Colomer Vidal is a Postdoc Researcher at IQOG-CSIC where his career is focused on the determination of persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic organic pollutants in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems to understand their fate and behavior in the global environment. Among others, toxicology and epidemiology are some of his concerning topics, as well as scientific dissemination, environmental education, data analysis, and statistics.
